Hi, I’m Jenny Lin, a graduating student at the Urban Leisure & Tourism Lab Amsterdam. With this model, I would like to introduce my concept for Buikslotermeerplein.
As visitors enter the tunnel, they symbolically step out of the present. They then move through the past and current developments of Buikslotermeerplein, guided by images and stories. Eventually, they arrive at the future, where they are invited to add something of their own.
The official timeline of the area’s development is enriched with personal memories and stories from the local community. In this way, the tunnel shows that a place is shaped not only by buildings and plans, but also by experiences, encounters, and memories.
The concept invites visitors to reflect on three questions:
What would you like to leave behind?
Do you remember what it used to be like here?
And what would you like to contribute to its future?
